"A short film with a big heart..."  Michel Coulombe, Radio-Canada International
support

The first job.  The first business idea. The first film.  We all start somewhere.  But the first of anything is always the greatest hurdle to overcome.  That is why we recognize our first supporters with greater appreciation than those who may arrive down the road.

When this film needed support, there were many individuals who came forward to help.  Each one of them helped tell this story.
Their contributions helped us obtain the best technical expertise in the areas of camera, sound and post-production in order to increase the chances for distribution and screening.

A case for the short film

At first glance, a 12 minute film may seem totally insignificant. Our media culture is geared towards half-hour, one-hour, or in the case of Bollywood films, four-hour, productions.

Called a short film to differentiate its length from a feature-length film, the short has its own unique spot in the marketplace. Each year at the Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, an Oscar is given in the categories of “Best Live Action Short”, “Best Documentary Short”, and “Best Animated Short”. Many successful and renowned directors entered the competitive film industry by making a short film: Steven Speilberg (THE LAST GUN, 1959), Deepa Mehta (AT 99: A PORTRAIT OF LOUISE TANDY MURCH, 1975), and Martin Scorcese (VERSUVIUS IV, 1959). The short allows an emerging filmmaker to take a baby step, knowing that if it is done right, it is a stepping stone to bigger and better projects.
